Catalina Gómez Alvarez is a multidisciplinary designer and artist whose work explores ecology, sustainability, and anthropological and sociological questions within the context of global systems, consumption, and urban communities. Her practice combines conceptual development, research, and both artistic and scientific methodologies, allowing her to critically engage with complex contemporary issues through design.
She has extensive experience working in international teams, developing collaborative and research-driven projects across cultural contexts. Catalina holds a Bachelor’s degree from the Berlin University of the Arts (UdK Berlin), had an exchange year in Speculative Design at the University of Applied Arts Vienna, and earned her Master’s degree in Geo-Design from the Design Academy Eindhoven, where she focused on geopolitics and research-based design practices.
